19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.
Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, supported by an enhanced service.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
Moutet defended four initial chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
