Cars in Germany's Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities mentioned they were notified by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the substance was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; authorities are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for information.

A senior political figure stated the attack rendered him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
